Zest Factor: Cultural Recipe Discovery App
“Zest Factor” is a UX/UI prototype for a recipe discovery app designed to encourage cultural exploration while helping users make better use of ingredients they already have at home. Inspired by my own interest in learning recipes from different cultures, the concept focuses on introducing users to unfamiliar dishes in an approachable way through personalized recommendations and ingredient-based discovery. The project involved user research, persona development, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.
Feedback from testing revealed that lengthy onboarding questions discouraged engagement, leading me to simplify the survey experience and refine the user flow. Additional user suggestions also informed the inclusion of a smart timer feature to better support the cooking process. The project strengthened my understanding of how user research and feedback shape thoughtful design decisions and improve the overall user experience.
