Kids in the Neighborhood Pattern Set
“Kids in the Neighborhood” was the first pattern project I ever created. The illustrations were created traditionally in ink, then vectorized and made into a pattern. My main goal for this project was to start honing my personal style in illustration. Through creating the style, I was drawn to exaggerating thick and thin lines which led to the exaggeration of the house styles. At the end of this project, I sent out the pattern to spoonflower to have a sundress made. The childish style and cool colors are brought together to resemble a nostalgic period of childlike wonder in the spirit of gift giving.
